Job Overview
Rhino Coffee House Westhills is hiring an experienced Baker to produce high-quality baked goods that match our café standards for freshness, flavour, and presentation. This role is ideal for a reliable, detail-oriented baker who can follow recipes consistently, work efficiently to meet daily production deadlines, and contribute to a strong retail bakery display through smart merchandising and inventory control. You will prepare doughs, batters, icings, and frostings, bake a variety of items, decorate products for sale, and support the organization and presentation of baked goods to maximize quality and customer experience. Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

• 2 years to less than 3 years of baking experience in a café, retail bakery, or production kitchen environment

Work Setting

• Coffee house / bakery production environment
• Daily baking cycles with time-sensitive production and display requirements

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, and prepare batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, including icings and frostings, according to recipes or special customer orders
• Bake mixed doughs and batters, monitoring timing, temperature, and product consistency
• Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods with clean finishes and consistent presentation
• Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards for taste, freshness, portioning, and appearance
• Organize and maintain inventory, including ingredient stock levels, rotation, and waste control
• Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods, including maintaining attractive displays and ensuring items are properly labeled and presented
• Maintain a clean and organized baking area and follow food safety and sanitation practices
• Coordinate with café staff regarding daily availability, best sellers, and replenishment needs to support smooth service
• Communicate ingredient needs and production timing to management to support ordering and planning
