Job Overview
Rebecca Salim is seeking a compassionate and dependable Live-in Caregiver to provide daily personal care and home support in a private home setting in King City, Ontario. This role supports a person with a disability and may also involve care for a client living with Alzheimer’s disease. The ideal candidate is patient, respectful, and safety-minded, with the ability to follow routines closely and provide consistent, dignity-first support. You will assist with medication routines as directed, hygiene, feeding support, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, and companionship to help maintain comfort, stability, and a safe living environment. Optional accommodation is available at no charge on a live-in basis, but it is not a condition of employment.
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience
- 1 to less than 7 months of relevant caregiving/home support experience
- On-the-job orientation may be provided for household routines and client preferences
Work Setting
- Work in employer’s/client’s home
- Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis (not a condition of employment)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Administer medications as directed and follow established schedules and instructions carefully
- Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, including grooming and dressing support
- Feed or assist in feeding and ensure meals are provided safely and respectfully
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to preferences and any dietary guidance provided
- Provide personal care support throughout the day according to routines and care needs
- Provide companionship, supportive conversation, and emotional reassurance
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, tidy, and comfortable home environment
- Launder clothing and household linens; fold, store, and keep items organized
- Observe and report changes in routine, mood, appetite, mobility, or overall well-being to the employer promptly
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in a private home setting
Security and Safety
- Criminal record check required

- Ability to work independently and follow routines carefully
- Calm, respectful approach required for dementia-related behaviours and changing daily needs

- Patient, calm, and compassionate in sensitive caregiving situations
- Excellent oral communication and efficient interpersonal skills
- Organized with strong time management and ability to follow care routines accurately
- Good judgement and safety awareness, especially with medication routines and home safety
- Initiative to notice what needs to be done and provide support without constant supervision
- Respectful, professional attitude and commitment to dignity-first care
Additional Assets (Preferred)
- First Aid/CPR certification (asset)
- Experience supporting clients with Alzheimer’s/dementia (asset)
- Experience preparing simple nutritious meals and maintaining basic daily notes (asset)
