Job Overview
Highline Mushrooms is hiring Farm Machinery Operators to support organic mushroom operations across Leamington and Kingsville. This role is ideal for a dependable operator who is comfortable working in rural production environments and can safely operate and maintain farm machinery while keeping accurate production records. You will support daily farm and greenhouse activities, assist with cleaning, monitor crop conditions, and use equipment such as tractors, skidsteers, forklifts, and farm trucks to move materials and keep operations running efficiently. Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

Experience

1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience operating farm equipment, forklifts, skidsteers, or similar machinery
Training may be provided for site-specific systems and procedures

Work Site Environment

Organic farming and mushroom production
Outdoors and indoor production areas, including greenhouse environments
Noisy conditions, odours, wet/damp areas, and cold/refrigerated spaces may occur
Dirty conditions and all weather conditions depending on assignment
Work at heights may be required for certain tasks

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
Perform daily equipment checks and report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly
Maintain quality control and production records and ensure information is accurate and complete
Maintain work records and logs, including operational notes and basic tracking
Detect disease and health problems in crops and report concerns to supervisors promptly
Support greenhouse cleaning and maintain tidy, safe work areas around production zones
Perform general farm duties as required, including moving materials, staging supplies, and supporting production teams
Follow farm safety procedures and site rules, including equipment safety and hygiene protocols

Transportation / Travel Information

Public transportation is not available
Candidate must be able to reliably commute to rural work locations (own transportation is an asset)

Own Tools/Equipment

Steel-toed safety boots required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision once trained
Physically demanding work with repetitive tasks
Handling heavy loads and frequent lifting/carrying of materials
Standing for extended periods; regular walking
Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends
