Job Overview
Bernice Ng is seeking a caring, dependable, and responsible Home Child Care Provider to provide attentive care and supervision for children in a private household in Richmond Hill, Ontario. This permanent, full-time opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys working with children and can create a safe, healthy, organized, and supportive home environment. The successful candidate will supervise and care for a multi-aged group of children, prepare nutritious meals, organize age-appropriate games and outings, support children’s personal hygiene and social development, and attend to their emotional well-being. The position also involves light housekeeping and assuming responsibility for household duties when parents are absent. Optional accommodation may be available at no charge on a live-in basis, and LMIA sponsorship is indicated as available for qualified international candidates.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience
- Experience is an asset
- Previous experience caring for children, working as a nanny, home child care provider, babysitter, caregiver, or in a related childcare setting is beneficial
- Experience supervising children of different ages is an asset
- Experience preparing meals and maintaining a safe household environment is beneficial

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Supervise and care for children in the employer’s home
- Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the parents
- Maintain a safe, clean, healthy, and supportive environment for the children
- Monitor children’s activities and ensure they remain safe while playing and carrying out daily routines
- Organize and participate in appropriate activities such as games, educational activities, indoor play, outdoor activities, and outings
- Encourage children’s social development through positive interaction and age-appropriate activities
- Instruct children in personal hygiene and appropriate daily routines
- Attend to the emotional well-being of children and provide reassurance, encouragement, and age-appropriate support
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to household routines and children’s needs
- Assist children with meals and encourage healthy eating habits
- Follow established household routines, schedules, and instructions provided by the parents
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the children’s living areas and daily activities
- Keep children’s rooms, play areas, toys, and commonly used spaces clean and organized
- Help children with dressing, bathing, grooming, and other age-appropriate personal-care routines when required
- Monitor children’s behaviour and communicate important observations or concerns to the parents
- Maintain appropriate supervision during indoor and outdoor activities
- Support a consistent and respectful environment that encourages children’s independence and development
- Handle children’s belongings, food, toys, and household items responsibly
- Perform other reasonable childcare and light household duties related to the position as required

Transportation and Travel Information
- Public transportation is available

- Ability to reliably travel to and from the employer’s home is important

- Ability to handle loads of up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
