Job Overview
Denise – Private Household is seeking a caring and dependable Child Caregiver to provide attentive in-home childcare in a non-smoking environment in Vancouver, British Columbia. This role is ideal for a safety-focused caregiver who can support children’s routines, learning, and emotional well-being while maintaining a clean, healthy home environment. You will help with school and appointment transportation, meal preparation and cooking, homework support, and age-appropriate activities and outings. CPR and First Aid are required. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with health benefits and transportation support provided by the employer.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

• 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant childcare experience (private home, nannying, daycare support, after-school care, or similar)

Credentials (Required)

• CPR Certificate

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Supervise and care for children, ensuring safety and attentive supervision at all times
• Tend to emotional well-being of children through supportive communication and positive guidance
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, encouraging positive habits and respectful behaviour
• Help children with homework and support positive learning routines
• Organize activities such as games and outings that support learning, movement, and social development
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks; cook as required according to family preferences and any dietary guidance
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, including tidy child areas and hazard awareness
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to childcare (tidying toys, cleaning after meals/activities, maintaining child spaces)
• Take children to and from school and to appointments as required, following agreed schedules
• Communicate clearly with the employer regarding routines, schedules, and any concerns
