Job Overview
Palmer Charolais Land & Cattle is hiring a Farm Worker (Livestock) to support day-to-day cattle ranch operations in a rural area near Bladworth, Saskatchewan. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, physically fit, and comfortable working with livestock and farm equipment. You will assist with calving, feeding and tending animals, maintaining clean and safe barns and pens, operating and maintaining machinery, and completing general ranch duties including repairs and fence work. With steady hours ranging from 40 to 60 per week and staff accommodation available, this is an excellent opportunity for long-term, full-time employment in Canadian agriculture with LMIA support for eligible international candidates.

Experience

  • 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant livestock, ranch, or farm experience

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

  • Monitor the calving process and support calving management, including preparing areas and responding to issues promptly
  • Feed and tend animals, following daily routines for nutrition, water, and general care
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain sanitation, comfort, and safe working conditions
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment as assigned; perform basic checks and report mechanical issues
  • Perform general farm duties, including yard upkeep and assisting with seasonal tasks
  • Repair defective or damaged metal and wood components around the farm as needed
  • Support fence installation and repairs, ensuring livestock areas remain secure and functional
  • Follow farm safety practices and animal handling procedures to protect workers and livestock
  • Observe animal condition and report health concerns or unusual behaviour to the supervisor promptly

Work Conditions and Expectations

  • Work is physically demanding and performed outdoors and in barn environments
  • Hours may increase during busy periods such as calving, feeding demands, or weather events
  • Requires reliability and consistent attendance due to daily livestock care needs
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and also cooperate with the ranch team
