Job Overview
Suntastic Hothouse Inc is hiring Vegetable Farm Workers to support year-round greenhouse production in Exeter, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for dependable individuals who want stable, permanent full-time work in a modern hothouse environment. No experience is required because we will train you on our standards, crop-handling methods, and safety procedures. You will help harvest, grade, pack, and care for tomato and bell pepper crops while maintaining cleanliness, quality, and plant health. If you are physically fit, detail-oriented, and ready to work in a fast-paced greenhouse setting, this role can be a strong pathway into long-term Canadian agriculture.

Work Site Environment

• Work at heights (platforms/ladders may be used as required for crop care and harvesting)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Hand harvest vegetables carefully to protect fruit quality and plant health
• Harvest crops according to picking standards, maturity targets, and daily production goals
• Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades based on size, shape, colour, and volume to meet market requirements
• Pack fruits and vegetables into appropriate containers, ensuring correct counts, appearance, and minimal damage
• Tie and secure plants using approved greenhouse techniques to support growth and prevent breakage
• Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts as directed to maintain plant productivity and airflow
• Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants (as applicable within greenhouse crop-care routines)
• Cut horticultural crops as required by production needs
• Perform greenhouse cleaning, including cleaning rows/workstations and maintaining sanitary conditions
• Clean work area continuously to reduce hazards, improve efficiency, and maintain food-safety standards
• Report signs of insect or disease damage promptly to supervisors to support early intervention and crop protection
• Follow greenhouse hygiene, safety, and quality procedures at all times, including proper handling of produce and plant materials

Transportation/Travel Information

• Own transportation required (public transportation may be limited in the area)

• Physically demanding work including frequent walking, standing, and lifting/carrying as required
• Ability to distinguish between colours for grading produce and identifying ripeness or plant health issues
• Attention to detail for grading, packing quality, and crop-care standards
• Standing for extended periods
• Bending, crouching, and kneeling throughout the shift
• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking depending on assigned task
