Job Overview
Lone Star Angus is hiring a General Farm Worker to support daily crop and livestock operations in a rural Lacombe, Alberta setting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, can follow routines, and takes safety seriously around animals and machinery. You will assist with planting through harvest, feeding and tending animals, cleaning barns and pens, operating and maintaining farm equipment, and completing general farm duties including fence and structure repair. Experience

• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant farm experience (crop work, livestock care, equipment operation, fencing, or similar)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops according to schedules and field conditions
• Fertilize and spray crops following instructions and safe handling procedures
• Harvest crops efficiently while maintaining quality and minimizing losses
• Feed and tend animals according to daily routines and animal welfare practices
• Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain sanitation and safe working conditions
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment as assigned; perform basic checks and report issues promptly
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed consistently
• Construct and repair wood or metal supports and structures as needed on the farm
• Perform general farm duties including cleanup, yard organization, and assisting with seasonal tasks
• Support fence installation and repairs to maintain secure livestock and field boundaries

Work Conditions and Expectations

• Outdoor work in changing weather conditions and physically demanding farm environments
• Ability to work independently and also cooperate with the farm team
• Consistent attendance is essential due to daily livestock care needs
