Job Overview
Hillside Gardens Ltd. is hiring a Farm Foreman/Woman to lead day-to-day vegetable crop operations in a rural Bradford setting. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced farm professional who can coordinate crews, oversee crop-related work, maintain accurate production and financial records, and keep equipment running safely and efficiently. You will supervise general farm workers and harvesting labourers, support hiring and training, manage inventory and supplies, and perform maintenance and emergency repairs as needed. Spanish is an asset for communication in a diverse workplace. Experience
- 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant farm operations experience, including leadership or lead-hand responsibilities

- Other vegetables and melon farming (except potato)

- Rural area
- Maintenance-focused role with emphasis on maintenance and repair
Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate a team of 5–10 people (crew size may vary by season and workload)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers to meet daily and seasonal targets
- Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations, including task planning and quality checks
- Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed by all workers consistently
- Hire and train staff, including onboarding, job assignments, safe work practices, and performance expectations
- Maintain work records and logs, including labour tracking, completed tasks, and operational notes
- Maintain financial and production records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Maintain inventory of supplies and coordinate ordering/requisition of inputs and materials as needed
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment; coordinate equipment readiness for planting, cultivation, and harvest
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and reduce downtime
- Make emergency repairs to equipment and support maintenance and repair activities to keep operations running
- Negotiate with clients for provision of services when applicable, ensuring clear communication and professional follow-through
- Perform general farm duties and provide hands-on support during peak periods and urgent situations
