Job Overview
The Tokmakjian Family is seeking a compassionate and dependable Home Health Care Worker to provide respectful, day-to-day support in a private home environment. This role focuses on helping an elderly male client and may also involve support for a person with a disability. You will assist with personal care, hygiene, light exercise, meal preparation, companionship, and light housekeeping to promote comfort, safety, and independence at home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, trustworthy, and committed to dignity-centered care in a stable, long-term position. Optional live-in accommodation is available at no cost, but it is not a condition of employment.

Education

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Or equivalent experience

Experience

• Experience is an asset (home care, caregiving, companion care, or related support work)
• Training will be provided for household routines and client preferences

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Administer bedside and personal care in a respectful, privacy-focused manner
• Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• Provide personal care support as needed throughout the day
• Assist in regular exercise such as walking, consistent with the client’s ability and comfort level
• Provide companionship and supportive conversation to reduce isolation and promote well-being
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to family preferences and any dietary guidance provided
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, tidy living environment
• Mend clothing and linens when needed (minor repairs)
• Observe and report any changes in the client’s comfort, mobility, mood, or routine to the family promptly
• Maintain a respectful home environment and follow household schedules and expectations
• Practice good hygiene and safe work habits, including safe assistance techniques

Security and Safety

• Criminal record check required
• Professional references may be requested as part of the selection process

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Light lifting and carrying, weight handling up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
• Standing, walking, and assisting with daily routines
• Ability to remain attentive and calm while supporting personal care tasks
• Ability to work independently and follow established routines in a private home
