Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, and mobility support
- Provide respite care and emotional support to patients and families
- Help with household tasks, meal preparation, and medication reminders
- Ensure a safe environment by using proper body mechanics and transfer techniques
- Promote independence while offering compassionate care tailored to individual needs
What You Bring
- A strong commitment to patient care and well-being
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Availability for flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, and alternate weekends
- A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), Internationally Trained Nurse, Health Care
- Aide, Developmental Support Worker, Home Support Worker, or enrollment in a Nursing program
- A clear vulnerable sector check and background check
- New Ontario PSW graduates may qualify for a $10,000 retention bonus when committing to a full-time position for 12 months. Additional $10,000 relocation bonuses are available for those moving to rural, remote, or northern areas.
Work Environment
- Home care, retirement homes, and community settings
- Flexible schedules with shifts in mornings, evenings, and weekends

- Physically demanding tasks such as assisting with mobility and personal care

Skills and Knowledge Needed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of personal care techniques and safety procedures
- Ability to recognize and respond to patient needs effectively
- Basic meal preparation and household management skills
- Time management and adaptability to different patient needs
Education and Certification Requirements
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a recognized program
- Alternative qualifications include training as a Health Care Aide, Internationally Trained Nurse,
- Developmental Support Worker, or Home Support Worker
- Additional certifications such as First Aid and CPR are considered assets
