Job Overview
Justin Koenig is seeking a caring and dependable Child Caregiver to provide attentive, day-time childcare in a non-smoking private home in North York, Ontario. This role supports a multi-aged group of children, from infants to school-age, and is ideal for someone who is patient, organized, and safety-focused. You will handle essential infant care (diapers, bottle sterilization, formula preparation), support routines and rest periods, prepare nutritious meals, plan age-appropriate activities, maintain daily records for parents, and help keep children’s areas clean and safe. Experience is not required as training will be provided, but strong judgement, reliability, and initiative are essential. Optional live-in accommodation is available at no charge, but it is not a condition of employment.

- Will train (childcare, nannying, babysitting, daycare, or family caregiving experience is an asset)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Supervise and care for children, ensuring safety and attentive supervision at all times
- Change diapers and support infant care routines with cleanliness and comfort
- Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas according to instructions and safe feeding practices
- Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children and maintain consistent daily routines
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods and maintain calm nap/quiet-time routines
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to family preferences and any dietary guidance
- Organize activities such as games and outings that support learning, movement, and social development
- Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development and encourage positive habits
- Tend to emotional well-being of children through patient communication, reassurance, and positive guidance
- Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, using calm and consistent approaches
- Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children (meals, naps, diaper changes, routines, concerns)
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, including child-safe practices and tidy child spaces
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to childcare (cleaning up after meals/activities, organizing toys, keeping child areas clean)
- Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, following routines and instructions provided
