Job Overview
Ashraf Yusuf is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Support Worker (Home Support) to provide one-on-one care in a non-smoking private home in Brossard, Québec. This position supports clients who may be elderly, living with Alzheimer’s disease, physically disabled, or terminally ill. The role is ideal for someone who can provide respectful bedside and personal care, follow medication routines carefully, assist with mobility and regular exercise, prepare nutritious meals (including therapeutic diets), and maintain a clean, safe home environment. Optional live-in accommodation is available at no charge, but it is not a condition of employment. Languages: English or French
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience in home care, PSW/home support, elder care, disability support, or similar roles

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Administer bedside and personal care while maintaining privacy, dignity, and comfort
- Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, including grooming and dressing support
- Administer medications as directed and follow established schedules and instructions carefully
- Feed or assist in feeding and monitor safety and comfort during meals
- Assist in regular exercise such as walking and mobility routines as appropriate
- Plan therapeutic diets and menus as directed and prepare meals aligned with dietary needs and preferences
- Cook and prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
- Shop for food and household supplies and maintain basic household stock levels
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, tidy, and comfortable home environment
- Launder clothing and household linens; fold, store, and keep items organized
- Mend clothing and linens when needed (minor repairs)
- Provide companionship and supportive conversation to promote emotional well-being and reduce isolation
- Observe and report changes in condition, mood, appetite, mobility, sleep, or routine to the employer promptly
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all household and care instructions consistently

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Fast-paced environment with physically demanding, repetitive tasks
- Work under pressure while maintaining calm, respectful care
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking; standing for extended periods and regular walking
- Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
- Handling heavy loads and weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
