Job Overview
Falona-Springs Holstein Ltd is hiring a dependable General Farm Worker (Livestock) to support daily dairy operations in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals, can follow consistent routines, and understands the importance of cleanliness, biosecurity, and animal welfare. You will assist with milking, feeding, herd health monitoring, barn sanitation, record keeping, and general farm duties, including operating farm equipment as assigned. Experience is an asset, but motivated candidates who are reliable, safety-minded, and willing to learn are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

Handle animals safely and humanely, following farm procedures and animal welfare standards
Monitor animal health daily and report concerns promptly
Treat livestock health issues as directed and within farm protocols
Perform livestock feeding and feed and tend animals according to schedules
Milk cows and support automated milking system operation as required
Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens and maintain sanitation and bedding standards
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment as assigned; perform basic checks and report issues
Maintain livestock performance records and support accurate production tracking
Maintain work records and logs, including routine tasks and observations
Perform general farm duties and assist with additional tasks during peak periods

Transportation / Travel Information

Public transportation is not available
Candidate must be able to reliably commute to the farm (own transportation is an asset)

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Ability to work independently and follow daily routines consistently
Physically demanding work with repetitive tasks
Handling heavy loads and working around livestock and farm equipment
Combination of sitting, standing, and walking with a large workload during peak times
Strong attention to detail required for milking hygiene, feeding routines, and record keeping
